Mellott, Dec 21 – Charles E. Huff,
71, cashier in the Mellott Bank for many years, died this morning after a
year’s illness, he retiring from the banking business four years ago. A son of Frank and Ella Huff, he was born in
this community and spent his entire life here. He leaves his widow, who was
Nora Miller Brown, also two brothers, Edgar of Farmington, Ill; and Fred of
Mellott and two sisters, Mrs. John Gardner of Mellott and Miss Lucy Huff of
Richmond. Mr. Huff was a member of the North Christian Congregational Church
here and the Masonic Lodge of Newton (sic – Newtown) also the Knights Templar
at Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2
o’clock with Dr. Watkins officiating. Burial in the Newtown cemetery. - kbz
